Eolys Fluid Particulate Filter Minimum Level

Well its time for an update onmy trusty on 307 HDI 110 BHP Car

It has just turned over 160k and i have started over the last 3 weeks to receive the "Additive Minimum Level" Warning in the screen every time the car is started.

This is followed by a sharp "beep" noise that drives you mad.

So this weekend i decided to set about resolving this problem

Key Tasks

Obtain

Pat Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaner Fluid DPX 42/176 EOLYS 1 litre+Refill Kit.
£40.00 from ebay

Remove

Plastic cover from over the EOLYS fluid tank

Remove pipework from tank

Add fluid

Reset counters with PP2000 software / hardware.

Key Points encountered you may wish to make note of.

Wile trying to remove the plastic under body cover 2 of the 4 M10 Studs snapped off.
Fix cut off remainder of the stud with a junior hacksaw and drill 2.5mm hole in the centre of the stud. Obtain 20mm self-tapper screw and use this to secure plastic cover.

Metal strap that spans across the bottom of the fuel additive tank has rotted through and needed replacement.

Made drawing of the item and had a copy made at work and cut on a laser cutting machine. Painted and replaced. without this option you could obtain a strip of 2mm steel about 30mm wide a
nd 700mm long and drill 2 holes in it if you encountered the same problem.

I would recommend getting a fill kit to do this job as it would be very hard without one. Its only simple but very affective.

Assemble the rubber pipe and connection ends together as indicated in the kit. Use hot water to heat up the tube as it needs to fit both small size union and large.
I would also recommend using some superglue on the rubber tube were it fits onto the plastic refill bottle. If this popped off during the refill process you would get covered in the
EOLYS fluid. 1 it’s not nice and its very expensive to spill it.

Adding the EOLYS fluid to the tank.
Once the rubber tube is fitted to the larger of the pipes on the car" this is the one that goes into the fluid tank ) the fluid can be added by inverting the bottle of fluid and forcing the it  into the car tank under pressure. You can not do this in one go as it appears to pressurise. I found it easier to push as much fluid in until it appears to stop and then invert fill bottle and open the lid slightly to stop the fluid being pulled back out of the tank. you should only have to do this about 7 times for one bottle. Yours may go in easier.

Resetting the minimum level threshold on the ecu.
start car, allow to idle for 1 minute
Switch off remove filler cap for min 10 seconds
replace cap
start car and idle for a further minute
Switch off to position 0 but leave key in.
leave car for 4 minutes without operation anything e.g. remote etc.
switch ignition back on and reset any errors in the ECU through your software.
Fingers crossed like me its now working.

TIP

If you have errors that will not go away try disconnection the car battery and try again.
This may help remove some errors that will not go away even though you believe you have fixed them
